About me
Hi, I'm Natalie.
Thanks for visiting
I work therapeutically with the body’s nervous system to help release stuck emotions from past experiences, going beyond talk therapy.
I value nurturing Individual Potential and Cultivating Meaningful Collective Connections.
My journey into this work is inspired by my own experiences with emotional and relational challenges, as well as witnessing the effects of addiction on loved ones. Volunteering at a local drug and alcohol agency was my first step, and it quickly became clear that helping others within the community was my passion.
While pursuing my studies in Therapeutic Counselling, I gained diverse experience working with adults and young people in both one-to-one and group settings. I mentored university students and engaged in some subcontracted counselling and coaching work. I also supported people through the COVID crisis with the mental healthy Charity MIND, and collaborated with other local and charity organizations. Each of these roles offered me invaluable learning and enriched my understanding of connection and common humanity.
However, as my career progressed, I increasingly felt constrained by mental health systems and approaches that prioritise targets and short-term outcomes over deep, meaningful collaboration and lasting impact. In certain organisational environments, there was a stark contrast between the professed ideals and the reality of hyper-medicalising human emotional experience and suffering. I observed a focus on symptom management, often at the expense of exploring deeper influences.
This disconnection from my values, combined with unprocessed internal wounds and stress I was unknowingly carrying in my nervous system, eventually led to severe burnout—emotionally, mentally, spiritually, and physically—culminating in autoimmune issues.
Reclaiming Wholeness and Listening to My Body
My breakdown was the catalyst for deeply delving into body-focused work and somatic approaches.
Through this process, I explored and began to come to terms with self-limiting conditioning patterns, unhelpful beliefs, self-criticism, and shame that had been shaping my life in profound ways— some of which I thought I had addressed or was handling through my own private talking therapy sessions.
I recognise how mainstream mental health care often falls short of incorporating the wisdom of the body to foster deep self-awareness. It was through engaging in somatic work, that I began to truly peel back layers and promote alignment in a way that I now see as integral to meaningful growth.
Learning to listen to my body was a profound turning point. I began staying present with discomfort rather than resisting it, meeting myself exactly where I was with acceptance. Letting go of the “fix-it” mindset, getting to know and work with the parts of me that were fuelling my inner critic and affecting attunement to myself and others, I welcomed the different parts of myself—not as burdens, but as invitations to heal and learn from, each holding its own unique story and purpose.
I’m passionate about helping clients reconnect with their authenticity by offering a space where every part of them is seen, heard, and embraced. My journey of healing and self-discovery is ongoing, as I continue to practice an embodied lifestyle. I feel deeply grateful to now be in a position to share what I’ve learned, supporting others as they find their own path to balance, reconnection, wholeness, and self-compassion.
What defines trauma is life events that are too much, too soon or too fast for our nervous system to complete a successful survival-to-safety response. In addition… it can be thought of as too little, too late or too slow when the nervous system did not receive the support, regulation and nourishment it needed’
